Healing and Stealing subscribers will dive into the darker corners of an industry that loots hundreds of billions of dollars and kills thousands of people every year. They’ll also meet some of the extraordinary people who take care of us in an environment that works against their compassion and intelligence every day.

I’ve analyzed U.S. health care for 30 years as both outsider and insider. From helping health care workers organize unions to backstopping multi-billion dollar health benefit and provider rate negotiations, I’ve reported, organized, lobbied and crunched numbers from angles not always available elsewhere. My family and I also have our own firsthand experience as patients.
